Hershell Gill, P.E.
President of the structural engineering firm of HERSHELL GILL CONSULTING ENGINEERS, INC., received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1967 and his Master of Science from the University of Illinois in Civil Engineering in 1968 specializing in structures and foundations.
His early experience was with the Bechtel Corporation (1968-1970) where in specialized in subcontracts for the 200 million dollar Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant. From 1970 to 1974, Mr. Gill was associated with the Miami firm of Crain and Crouse, Inc. (later known as Crouse and Partners, Inc.) where he was Project Engineer for multiple apartment buildings, commercial complexes, and college facilities. He entered private practice in 1975 and since then has been the structural engineer of record for multi-million dollars worth of residential and commercial construction.
Mr. Gill is a registered professional engineer in the states of Florida, Illinois, Texas, Georgia, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, FICE, FES, CSI, AISC, NSPE, ACI, ASTM, Past Chairman of the National Committee of Joint ACI-ASCE 421 on Reinforced Concrete Slabs, Past Chairman of American Concrete Institute Sub Committee 318-F "Two-Way Slabs", Past Chairman of the Florida Coalition of American Structural Engineers, Founding President of Florida Structural Engineers Association (FSEA), and Member of American Concrete Institute Committee 318-2001, "Building Code Requirements for Reinforced Concrete”.
